Films and television presentations are powerful means of mass communication
because they simultaneously influence two of our senses i.e. seeing and hearing.
They delight the mind and provide relaxation to the tired and tense nerves through
entertainment. Films and television presentations fascinate almost everyone.
They
are the most popular pastime for the majority of the people. The fact remains
that films and television programmes are made by a group of professionals for
an unknown audience. The magic of the moving pictures on the screen is created
by their makers and, therefore, education and training of film and television
producers is very important.Very large number of people work in the film and television
industries and a large amount of money is being invested in the entertainment
business eversince the cinema has been granted the status of an industry.
At Asian Academy of Film & TV, we believe that a film and television
producer should be in a position to write shoot and edit his own show. The academy
will therefore, provide the students with necessary theoretical instruction, practical
skills and an opportunity to make entertainment products following the industry
practices. A well rounded maker of entertainment products has to visualize his
screen presentation with moving pictures and therefore, he must learn the creative
use of the camera and the lights; he has to piece together the moving picture
and therefore, he must be conversant with the art and craft of editing, he has
to create a character out of the performer and therefore, he must be familiar
with the process of action; he has to learn how to write for the screen, directing
and producing screen presentation with proper understanding.
The
trainers of Asian Academy of Film & TV who are specialist practitioners from
a wide variety of professional backgrounds, will help the students of one year
Post Graduate Diploma in Film & TV Production to develop various skills through
practical classes and production projects beside imparting intensive theoretical
instructions. This one year session has been divided into three phases - the orientation
phase, working skills development phase and the production projects phase.
